Real questions

What exactly is free?

Everything. The whole engine (spaced repetition, text import, the Reader, audio and data export) and all the content: curated vocabulary for HSK 1 to 6 and the 7–9 band, all 33 ready-made decks, all 371 grammar points and all 400 chengyu.

What does it cost? Are there in-app purchases?

Nothing. Today there are no in-app purchases, no “pro” tier and no locked content. Everything Wanyu has today is free and will stay free; if we ever add something paid, it will be new, optional and clearly priced.

Is there a subscription or ads?

Neither. No ads, ever. And nothing that’s free today will start costing money: if something paid ever comes, it will be new and optional.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No. There are no accounts, and the entire app works offline.

Where is my data?

On your device. There's no cloud and no servers: you can export everything to a JSON file whenever you want, and import it on another device.

Is it on Android?

Not for now: today Wanyu is on iPhone, on the App Store. And with no accounts, progress doesn't sync between devices by itself, but your data travels with you via JSON export/import.

Which HSK does it cover?

The complete HSK 3.0, levels 1 through 9. When a word was also in HSK 2.0, that tag is shown alongside — we never convert levels by eye.
